As you have seen from my blog….im a big fan of music and especially new music! But I have a really bad habbit of not buying albums when they are released and no I don’t download them illegally…..

Today though I had a bit of a mind change….i went on an iTunes binge! I could have waited thought and bought them from Amazon or Play but to be honest its been cheaper on iTunes and it saves me waiting by my post box for a week. I also listen to albums on my laptop or ipod anyway and so the CD does just sit there.

On my previous blog site I did day that 2007 was going to be my year of music! It was…but I actually didn’t have the money to buy all the music I wanted. It was the moral dilemma of either buying a cd (roughly £10) or buy a weeks worth of food.

Anyway this is what I got…..

If you have not of the artist have a look…..

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly – Searching for the Hows and Whys

The CD Release of this album is not out for a couple of weeks but I found it on iTunes for £5. This is the second album from this artist….and his first was amazing.

Laura Marling – Alas I Cannot Swim

Laura Marling was one of the first posts on this blog. She has an amazing voice for such a young age. She hasn’t had the same publicity as many of the new female singers on the market, but if you like folk music I think this artist is a must. Currently only £5.99 on iTunes so it’s a must!

Vampire Weekend – Vampire Weekend

A great new band with a unique sound. They have been played on Radio One a lot and are from NYC

Biffy Clyro – Puzzle

This band has been around for a while and so has this album. It been one of those ones that ive been wanting for a while.

The Wombats -  A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation

The singles they have released have been going around my head for months now so I thought the album purchase was in order.

There are some great albums just about to be released to…will be on my next binge! Most of them are Second Albums really from bands who hit back in 2006. The Foals album is a new one from a great new band (thanxs to the makers of Skins for introducting this one to me!)

Panic at the Disco – Pretty Odd

We are Scientists -  Brain Thrust Mastery

Kooks – Konk

Foals – Antidotes

All available from all good online retailers!

I got very excited earlier when i found out about this!I have only just seen the other 3 (yes at the age of 22) but i really think this is going to be awsome!Click on the link bellow and go to the video section!Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – Trailer

The Guardians Emily Bell has for many years has been predicting the end of linear television and I can understand why. In this day of technology anyone who wants to watch can watch any time. May it by watching it anytime you like on BBC iPlayer, downloading it through 4OD or watching the next best American series through bit torrent.

I am part of this “on demand” generation, currently im sitting in my living room, watching last nights Ashes to Ashes that I recorded on my recordable freeview box that to be honest I wouldn’t be without. This is how I am watching more and more of my television, my way of cutting the crap and only watching quality television.

I don’t watch television linearly as much as I used to, sitting in front of viewing box for hours waiting for the next great program is at its end. The Guardian though reported that the 16-24 year old in the next couple of year will be watching more ‘Television’. In an essence I agree they will be watching more programs but not in the same way as though the normal television. With flat screens the ‘Television’ is just a screen, all the really matters is the input that connects it to the program. So the computer screen can now be seen as a television, the ipod is now a ‘television’. This is how 16-24 year old consume television.

Quality and ease of consumption will drive television forward….so cut the crap!

I found this artist while watching the BBC Switch program Sound…..such a delicate and beautiful voice. Someone to watch out for in 2008! Really have a listen…
